Two Voluntary Choirs-St.Asaph & Chester Cathedral song Evensong on May Day 2016

1st May was a red letter day for two cathedral Voluntary choirs- St.Aspah and Chester cathedral- when they came together for the first time to sing Choral Evensong. They sang Standford's Evening Service in Bb as well as his joyful setting of "Ye Choir of New Jerusalem". The Chester Nave choir has been singing for over 150 years whilst St.Asaph cathedral voluntary choir will mark it's first anniversary in June this year. The conductor for both choirs is the celebrated composer and Organist, John Hosking, orginally from Truro cathedral and now with St.Asaph. I took some photos,by request,during the rehearsal and also during the service.

Many thanks Andy. This was certainly a "first" in this part of the world. With John Hosking, the Conductor, the standard is certainly very high. The rehearsal went on from 2-3.15pm and then the Evensong at 3.30pm.
