$579 that will translate to about £500 in the UK. That.s an awful lot to pay for a flash, especially when you have to buy an add on transmitter to use the RT function off camera.Russell

maybe time to bag a decent 2nd hand 600:- Ian
5D Mk III, 24-105 / 70-200 f2.8 L / 100-400 Mk II / 100 macro / 16-35 L / 11-24 L / 1.4 & 2x converters and a bad back carrying it all ;o)

I've just bought a 600EX-RT (original version) to gain the benefit of high speed sync and open up opportunities for fill in flash in bright conditions....its brilliant (I could have saved a lot with a Yongnuo version - but having a pair of Calumet Genesis (non-HS sync) I decided not to go cheap again...though Ive saved £140 on the MKII version.
This is straight out of the camera...
