    Some Washington DC memorials

I had a few days in Washington DC last week, here are a few images; nothing spectacular but they all happen to be of memorials because, coincidentally, it was Memorial Day in the USA over the weekend. You may already have seen my picture of the US Marine Corps memorial (Iwo Jima) in the current Challenge thread, this is the side of the memorial that most closely represents the famous Joe Rosenthal photograph:

Also near the Arlington cemetery is a memorial bell tower called the Netherlands Carillon, presented to USA by the Netherlands in recognition of the support provided during and after WW2. The tower is very industrial in style so suited a slightly stark and gritty processing:

    Next the Lincoln Memorial:

And finally the National Memorial to WW2:

As always, grateful for thoughts, comments and critique.

Used to live in the area for 16 years before moving to PA. We are going down for a visit at the end of the month. Spent many of hours on the memorial grounds. Very nice set Alex.

Good set Alex and particularly like the last with the sunlight creeping across it

Thanks for stopping by, chaps. Looking at them again there I've noticed that a fair bit of noise has crept into the sky from the processing, I will go back and de-noise in due course. Cheers.
