I did take more than expected at my daughter's wedding when their 'pro' let them down at the last minute (I'd declined to be the photographer at this one too). What I did for them was to gather photographs from all the guests and add them to mine before spending days processing them all. I think that in your case having to let the happy couple have theirs so soon afterwards with no time to review and edit must result in a less satisfying product for you but, as said, they'll be looking at them with far less critical eyes so will be more than happy with your efforts. Well done

Thanks so much for your comments and critiques too. This will help me should I be asked again!!

It was a full on Sunday to whittle them down and then process them too. Then burnt to a DVD and placed on an SD card so they could print off the ones they liked, hence the need to frame in camera and not crop anything.

I've had some very pleasing comments from them and others, so all in all I'm a happy happy. Oh and I got paid, whoop whoop.
    Alan.

The set ticks all the boxes (apart from the small niggles mentioned), you seem to have been lucky with the light, nice and soft with no harsh shadows, all crisp, clear, sharp and well exposed. The only issue I have is in image 4, there seems to be a wooden/brass ornament growing out of the brides head. Still, this is good work, and you should be pleased with your efforts.
Thanks Les and you know, I didn't see the brass thing till now . This is why I like this forum.

Thanks Bo. I'm the tog, not the fashion expert

No, no Alan- think you may now have gathered I was referrring to the "wooden headdress" on the bride ! NO disrespect to bride and groom who both frocked up great.

May I add my general congratulations to you for taking on such a nervy project. I took masses of pics for my stepson's wedding last June and it was amazing how many were dumped for unseen shade, parts missing, intrusive articles etc. And as an extra worry the no-crop factor.

You're a better man than me Gunga Din!

Thank you Alex. Weirdly I didn't feel that stressed out, perhaps a little before and once loaded up, waiting for the good or bad to appear.

Not sure I can accept the better, but perhaps braver

Well done mate, you are braver than me, I would be more nervous than the bride. Most folks have pointed out the things that they would have tweaked slightly, but at the end of the day, it was their wish to get them early and something you had no control over.

I would however still tweak the odd vertical and clone the odd bits out, because you will learn from that, it will boost your confidence, improve your editing skills and it also gives you a portfolio that will be at the optimum to show other potential clients if you decide to throw sanity to the wind and do another wedding.. Heck you could even make them available to the couple, they would appreciate them.

As for a tweak no one has mentioned, I would clone out the card that is reflecting off the rear window in the car shot, as it draws the eye from the lovely couple..

But above all, well done and kudos to you

Thanks Brian. Yes, I really think I would do another, It has taught me a lot and thanks to all you lovely peeps I have seen the shots in more detail now.
