    Mara Elephants

    Couple of Elephant shots taken at different times of the day , the first being around midday and the second in the beautiful light just after sunrise

      Thanks Russell , a professional wildlife photographer I know refers to the early morning light after sunrise and just before sunset as " the golden hour" and you can see why in Africa, the light gets very bright and harsh during the middle of the day casting lots of dark shadows if you are in the wrong place but I love being out the plains at sunrise , simply magical

            Yes, the light in the second is lovely, Steve, as is the detail of texture in the skin. Thanks for sharing such an interesting comparison.
