          Re: Spam

To be fair it is very rare to get this here. I was on a forum once that had to close down under the weight of posts trying to sell us the means of enlarging certain parts of our anatomy.
Just for curiosity, when you put the spam into Google translate you get:

I go on to friends on www.eos-magazine-forum.com

There are many ways to solve the lock Roskomnadzor. But the safest and fastest - Sparkle
Information here - [website name deleted]

Fifteen men on the dead man's chest!

I am sure it means something to someone... :roll eyes:

Edit: Ah, I see David has already translated it in another thread. Sorry for the duplication.

            Why?

Are we receiving a lot of spam from a lot of spammers?

Are there a lot of inappropriate posts?

Are there disputes between members which get out of hand?

Incidentally, despite a comment a day or two ago, there is a moderator on this forum. It's me. Most of my forum work involves checking new registrations before they are accepted. On average between 80% and 90% of registrations are from spammers and are deleted. The spammer today, MarciaCync, was not flagged by any of the tests we run and was accepted. The spammer has now been banned and all their posts deleted (let me know if I have missed any).

I apologise for any inconvenience, but no system is perfect.

              Re: Spam

Absolutely no problem Robert, moderators generally go unnoticed in the background. Vast majority of the work you do will not be noticed by forum members, can you tell I use to work in IT?

Thank you for taking action and sorting it out so quickly, Robert. It is also a useful reminder of the amount of effort that you must put in behind the scenes to enable us to have our fun. It is appreciated.

if you want to see Spamming at it's finest on an un-moderated forum have a look at the Whisky Magazine one , jeez it's bad , gave up on it years ago ! http://www.whiskymag.com/forum/ . I used to run a forum for a good few years and i can tell you it's not an easy thing sorting the potential spammers from the genuine people .
