    Newsletter

I am trying to use MailChimp to begin a newsletter. Here is a link to the fourth in the series (you can find the others on the link). Anyone else had any success building a list for such a venture?

    Re: Newsletter

I don't have a website or anything so can't really comment but an observation would be why a newsletter and not just a blog entry on the website? Most people seem to do that and then link the blog entry on FB and Twitter. I'm assuming any followers would see the entry that way so don't really see the need to run a parallel feed - particularly assuming there is a cost incurred unless you have a separate client list and use it as a mailshot because for some reason they aren't on normal social media.

      Re: Newsletter

Thanks for your reply Wayne, and sorry for the slow reply. I do have a blog but I wanted something more personal to reach out in the form of a newsletter - really to give myself some discipline. But in either case, the issue is driving people to it and increasing the readership. I suppose the nub of it is how do people build their lists? I have a FB page for photography and I tweet (occasionally), but to make sure people get it I started the email list - and using Mailchimp that is free - and I know that I have a small but regular readership. I also post it to LinkedIn.

Anyway - its just a matter of plugging away I guess and hoping someone reads it!!!

        Re: Newsletter

Funnily enough I've just bought a domain name and am considering my options on creating a website. Wordpress is my current favourite because 1. It's free! 2. It's allegedly pretty simple to set-up. I use FB and Twitter but not purely for photography. I think my twitter can go more that way but I don't think I'll do another FB yet.
