it is easier than it looks as it is mostly automated using a photoshop action. Some years ago the subject of a camera club competition was "spiral" and I had the idea of doing a playing card spiral so bought a couple of packs of cards and and arranged and shot them. didn't look quite right so posed a question on another forum and was given this "action" by another member and have used it as a basis for quite a number of different hots since

If I remember right , the original shot got a 10

Yet another shot I want to try! I like this, my only observation (not criticism) is the repeat on the left hand spiral is too obviously a clone. Because of the blemish/scar/bump on the skin, you can tell it repeats. If it wasn't for that, I would not have known it was PS!

          Nicely done anyway Stan,

that's true although if you did the whole thing by using loads of slices ( no I have not got the patience to do that), each a little smaller then the previous and arranged them in a spiral I don't think you would quite get this effect especially at the centre.

I totally agree. I was more meaning that if there wasn't such an obvious point of reference on the chosen slice, you would never know it wasn't individual slices!

understand what you are getting at. Probably should have tidied it up befor starting the spiral process

What was the "Photoshop action" you used
not a "commercial" action but one the guy who gave it me made up himself
