Not been about much lately as work has been keeping me busy. To that end I spent 8 days in Japan last week showing customers how to have a good time and of course to see the production facilities we have out there.
I couldn't really take my 'proper' gear so splashed on out a Canon G9X. After reading reviews it seemed a good choice to me. Anyway, I rattled off a few shots, got them home and have to say I'm very disappointed with the quality. Yes I know it has a very small censor in comparison and low light would mean noisy shots but, even it good light the noise is evident and the sharpness very poor. I shall be sending it back for a refund.
For all that, here is one shot that I'm okay with. An iconic temple in Kyoto. Taken around midday so the light is pretty harsh. It's needed a lot of fiddling in LR to get it to this stage. Please don't pixel peep
