    Lake Wakatipu

I've just been looking through using Lightroom my archived images from a 2014 trip to New Zealand to check what lens combinations I used on that trip. This was really to help decide which kit to take on my next Southern Hemisphere adventure.
During the lens checking exercise I found a set of images that I hadn't processed previously. I had obviously made the images with a view to creating a panorama but never got around to doing so!.
This eight image panorama was taken, hand held using the 5D3 and 24-105L. For those interested there's a larger version on my Flickr photostream and web site.

Cheers Ian, I should look back in my archive more often. Sometimes life gets in the way and I tend to concentrate more on my most recent images. I'm sure a lot of people on here will have older images that deserve a revisit with a view to processing them using the latest software and techniques.

A good piece of work that we can all learn from: stitch images for stunning panos, make them available full size on Flickr and look out those old forgotten images

Only comment (and I'm guilty of this myself) is did you crop the left hand side or was it the pano stitch wot done it?

              Cheers,
              John

Schoolboy error John, whilst I went beyond the near ground on the RHS I failed to do so on the LHS.

Since I first posted this image I have re stitched the images using LR rather than PS. The detail in the finished pano when zoomed in to the far shore line on the full size image on my PC is amazing. But there is a noticeable stitch error (it may be that the frame in question is a duffer!) in the water at the left side which doesn't seem to be visible on this one.
Thanks for taking time to look and comment [emoji106]

Like the combination of strong colours in the foreground with the mountains almost fading away.

Nice pano and looks lovely. I think on my monitor the horizon needs a little bit of attention.

A lovely image Peter, as has been said a pity about the left side of the image, although hindsight is a wonderful thing

John I started to process another panorama which I'll post when It's finished cooking, it will hopefully overcome my previous schoolboy error

Thanks for looking and commenting Nat, I've looked again at the horizon and can see why you think it needs attention. The right and left shore lines seem to be at different heights. It could be me as when I processed the stitch I made a level using the shore line at the right side of the image, that is horizontal, so I shall just accept that the meandering shoreline is the cause of the concern you've raised.

I've just processed this image to show the meandering shore line that I make reference to. The panorama image was taken from the far side of the nearest peninsular looking across the lake so the near shore line you see in the panorama is the sort of hammer head shaped peninsular visible in this image.
