    Tokyo, Japan

Just had a few days in Tokyo with work, and although there were very limited opportunities for sightseeing I did get out a couple of times. These are some of my favourites, a few more on Flickr.

View of Tokyo from the hotel bar. Taken through glass without a tripod so pressed against the window both to reduce reflections and for stability:

The famous 'Shibuya scramble', the busiest pedestrian crossing in the world. I was casting envious glances at a guy with a tripod who was no doubt getting great images:

Senso-ji Buddhist Temple. No chance of getting a shot without people in it - it was heaving, but the fact there are some ladies in traditional dress makes me more accepting of the clutter:

And this little shrine was tucked in between nasty modern buildings right next door to my hotel. Glad I brought my 10-22, which I nearly hadn't:

The night shots are really good, I like the movement of the pedestrians in the second image, all in all a nice set of images

Great set Alex with the second shot capturing the hustle and bustle of Tokyo.

Excellent Alex, particularly the second. It's a great country just wish I had time to shoot it and not ensure customers have all the fun!!!

Great set Alex. Not been to Japan but the fact that there are lots of people in the city is part of the story, wouldn't be the same without them.

A great set but it's the two night shots that steal the show And with a 7D too

            Cheers,

Nice set Alex, but would have to agree that the night scenes are the pick of the set.

                  Re: Tokyo, Japan

Thank you everyone for the kind comments. I think that Tokyo is one of those cities that just looks better at night, on account of all the neon and high rise buildings. Just a shame that when you are out on business trips I'm nearly always confined to hand held.

I agree. The night pics are the standout shots.

Nice to see a different location. Certainly the night shots are the pisk.

Not sure I could stand all the people myself.
