Can you not plug another monitor into the laptop?

        Re: slight dilemma

Depending on the problem and your level of technical comfort (no disrespect):

        1) simplest as already suggested is to plug in an external monitor - or TV if laptop has HDMI
        2) next option is try connecting from your other laptop using Microsoft RDP
        3) or pull the hard drive from the broken laptop and either try booting from it in your other laptop or using it as a second drive

If you haven't written to the camera card since formatting it then you can probably recover the images using rescue software.

External monitor by far the easiest.

Other option is to put the drive in one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/TeckNet-Doc...words=hdd+dock

This plugs into another computer via USB and the drive then appears as a second drive and you'll be able access the files.

            Re: slight dilemma

You do not need a docking port, simply buy a lead for the type of H drive you have, plug that into the hard drive and into a USB on your other PC, you will then be able to open it as it will appear as an external hard drive on the other laptop and copy them across.

Your laptop, you say broken, this can be several things, the cable has gone the display has gone or possibly the backlight, shine a torch when it is on and can you see a faint picture, google the model and search for screen replacement, back light replacement etc, you will find step by step guides normally, then look at ebay etc for the parts you need
