    yes its a black headed gull in winter plumage ,i would suggest a bird i.d book such as collins as it gives the seasonal variations

            Hi,

            You can get the Collins fieldguide for iphone/ipad, which can include video and sounds as well (might cost a bit extra). Don't think they have an android version though.

                Nicely captured. I'm glad you didn't ask 'Is it a seagull?' as my son & daughter-in-law who are both avid birders are always telling me There Is No Such Thing As A Seagull!!! :-)

                  Some birders really get annoyed by this. If you visit a reservoir there is a good chance there are black headed gulls that live their whole lives there and never see the sea.
