    "Supermoon" 14/11

Just a reminder that Monday 14/11 will see a "supermoon" with the closest distance since 1948 and until 2034.

Remember you do not get shadows at full moon so the focus is more on lunar features such as rays from Tycho etc.

    Hopefully clear skies!

I've never photographed the moon before but do want to have a go. However, the forecast is not good for the South East until next weekend (19th/20th) so looks like I'll have to make do with a non-super moon

Thank you very much Paul - I was not aware of this site - an absolute "must have"!

Congratulations to all who managed to capture the supermoon ... alas only a brief cloudy glimpse here ... I wonder what camera technology will be in 2034 when the next lunar proximity is due ...

                          Re: "Supermoon" 14/11

There are in fact 3 "Super Moons" this year. The first was October 16, second last night and the third December 14. However, the moon last night was the biggest of the three.
So last night was a "practice" with the very last chance, until 25th November 2034, being December 14.
