Re: Recommend Gloves
I use the glove-mitten comb. The glove only covers up to half of the fingers and then the mitten part folds over to keep the fingers warm. Then when I need to take a picture, I fold over the mitten part to expose the fingers, take the shot, then cover the fingers. Looks well.

Re: Recommend Gloves
I have several different ones depending on temperature ,the mitten type are good but tend to take time to open and shut ,not easy for fast response ,the best ones I have used come from sports direct and are quiet thin but do keep you warm ,they also fit my big mutt hands and fingers nicely ,and the bonus is there around £4 a pair .
I have misplaced mine so they need replacing soon I will provide a link when I get them

Re: Recommend Gloves
Good Thread , will be interested to see what comes up . Most of what I have used to date have not been ideal . I would take a look at gloves used by freshwater fisherman . I have been using finger-less green wool gloves , mainly to Cammo my hands , more than keep them warm .

Re: Recommend Gloves
I've been using these:
Lightweight Outdoor Clothing & Gear Specialist. Massive range of Backpacking, Trekking & Adventure Racing kit with reviews, specs & advice.
They are cycling gloves. Thin enough so you can use your camera, have spots of grippy stuff on the fingers/palm. Shop around and you should get them somewhat cheaper.Canon 5D3, 7D2, 60D, Canon 70-200L f2.8 IS II, Canon 300 f4L IS, Canon 16-35 f4 L, Canon 24-105mm f/4L IS USM, Canon 1.4 MkIII extender, Sigma AF 10-20mm f/3.5 EX DC HSM, Sigma 150-600 Contemporary, Tamron SP AF 70-300 F/4-5.6 Di VC USD, Canon EF-S 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 IS

Re: Recommend Gloves
I have to wear gloves all the time due to having severe Raynauds ( autoimmune problem) so have many pairs. I do find leather gloves with cashmere linings good because I can still work all the controls. More recently I've tried some North Face e-tip gloves which are stretchy & will work with my 70d touch screen. For me it trying to get get gloves which are warm but not too bulky that you can't hold or use your camera.

Re: Recommend Gloves
At the beginning of the year I asked the same question on another forum in preparation for a week in Iceland. I eventually went for Sealskinz foldback mittens over the top of thin liner gloves. They worked very well although the foldback thumb wasn't a tight fit. In the end Iceland wasn't as cold as I'd expected and I just wore the liner gloves most of the time.

Re: Recommend Gloves
Back when winter started to set in, I happened to mention in passing that I really must get myself some fingerless gloves.
Santa must have heard me, because he got me some, as a surprise present for Christmas.
They are Thinsulate brand, and cover half the length of the fingers.
