    SD to Compactflash adapter

Bough recently a 5D IV and kept a body of 70D.
Had to buy several SD UHS-1 writing at 90 MB/sec (video) because the old ones did not work (95 read/50 write).
I have a "big hole" for compactflash cards in the 5D that I'd like to put it to use only for photos and use the old SDXC cards, have a few....
    My question:
There are adapters to use SD cards on CF adapters

they are cheap enough to do a trial with the cards, if they do not do the speed, well didn't lost much....
Would it work, the adapter in the slot with the card inside?
I do not think there can be any damage but it's good to ask first, just in case.
    Thanks

I have one of those eBay type ones and it works fine in my 7D but I have had no success getting my Toshiba FlashAir card to wifi from the adapter but you can still take photos to the Toshiba SD card.

I don't know your circumstances so don't know any constraints or priorities which may be factors in your thinking. I would not experiment with SD / CF adapters in my camera. You have just bought a Mk IV ... just buy a new 32GB CF to go with it.

Couldn't agree more. After spending more than £3k on the camera spending £55 on a 64gb Lexar 1066x doesn't seem an extravagance.
