    Product photoshoot

    Hello and welcome.
I need help with correct pricing for product photoshoot.
I was asked to shoot scarfs for online store.
I am not full time pro but i can do it with my home studio setup.
White background, white dummy and scarf on it. 120 scarfs to be precise.
How much should i charge ?
I can provide few samples i did yesterday.

    Thanks !

I really do not know, but I suspect I would be doing this on the basis of time taken. What hourly rate are you happy to accept, taking into account set up, photographing, processing and sizing the photographs. How many hours for all of that? You also need to factor in an overhead rate to take into account the costs of setting up a studio and camera equipment.

I think that is better than trying to do a per-shot calculation because they are not exactly your own photographic creations.

    Hope that helps a little.

Always find these requests odd, if you don't know what to charge for a job, is it something you should be doing ? for us that would be a £1200 + vat job but there is a lot of post production and preparation to get it all done, would also check your insurance in case the stock is damaged/stolen.

I would do a test shot on a scarf you own, see how long it takes to take the photo and process it , then work out how many hours and how much you want to charge per hour then you have your cost.
