I hope you enjoy your new lens, it is a great multi-purpose lens, especially in adequate light !

If you have a 5d or 1ds it makes a good portrait lens

On my 50d I use it for landscapes and larger sized wildlife

I don't know what other lenses you have, but here are some examples where you can make good use of your 70-200:-
close ups of architectural detail where a standard lens wont reach,
to select a more distant section of the landscape,
portrait or any close by subject where you want a narrower depth of field - i.e. to throw the background out of focus (by selecting a wide aperture f4, f5.6) - more effective for the same aperture than shorter lenses,
sports action - and anywhere where you want to eliminate surrounding distractions.
....is that the kind of thing you were looking for?

Had this lens for a year, originally for sport but found i used it more and more for portraits-bit too short for sport(but not bad) but great for portrait,Great lens very versatile if you have room in you kit bag always carry it with you.
