Amazing price....I think if its a mistake in a shop then they don't have to sell it at that price.....maybe its different on-line?

Also, there has never been a better time to go to B&H in New York...the saving on one lens and body would pay for the flights.

Can you confirm that you have factored tax into your calculations? Prices at USA dealers are quoted without tax as this varies from state to state.

If you bring the equipment into the UK, you need to declare it and pay VAT.

        Re: Canon price increases

It's an offer to sell. You then make an offer to buy which the seller must then accept or decline. Generally, once your offer to buy is accepted then it becomes a contract. A few years ago there was a listing for the 500 f/4 at £995. Obviously a mistake as the street price then was aroun £4K. I and a number of others placed orders. Unfortunately, instead of getting acknowledgements (which would have formed a contract) they declined the orders.

B&H will ship tax free to some states but there is still the issue of declaration upon return to U.K. of course.

                          Re: Canon price increases

I nearly bought one of these. I put one in my 'basket', went to the checkout and confirmed but at payment had second thoughts as, as good as the price was, I doubted I'd use it as I mainly shoot landscapes and the money would be better spent on a 16-35 so cancelled the order. An hour later I decided it was too good to miss and that I'd buy a 16-35 AS WELL so tried to order a 100 2.8 but, by then, they'd all gone. Ah well, he who hesitates and all that

                          Cheers,
                          John
