    Church on the Marsh

This little church is probably one of the most photographed churches in Kent. It's on the Romney Marsh and to get to it you have to walk across sheep field for about 250m then cross a small bridge as it's completely surrounded with water. Mind you, last time I went, a couple of months ago, there had been a dry spell and the water had gone.

A nice little church. We spent quite a few days looking up the old churches around Dorset last summer and somehow they all looked better in colour. Wonder if this one would too

Must admit Stan that I'm generally not a fan of mono but it seems to suit the eerie feel of Romney Marsh.
Here's the colour version but without the vignetting.

I think I prefer the colour on this one although the mono does still work. We did see one church which was whitewashed and that was the only one that worked better in mono than colour

It's mono all the way for me, really brings the sky to life. Lovely composition and great shot

Thanks for commenting guys. Had a look at both your Flickr sites, some good shots there. Bit of a novel way of spelling Dungeness though Alan,

John, well if that is the one of the most photographed churches your image should be up there amongst the better ones. I like the colour version but overall I prefer the added drama of the mono sky. Great atmospheric image.

Thanks for bringing that up again John lol, you're not the first to have spotted my inept spelling

I like them both, but if I had to pick, it would be the mono 1st
