No - getting a bit off-topic here but....

Miss Whiplash was the name used by Marian June Akin, a.k.a. Lindi St Clair (or Claire) who stood under the Whiplash name in the Newbury by-election in 1993. We had the dubious honour of seeing her name on our voting slip - she polled 173 votes for The Corrective Party (The Monster Raving Loony Party got 432).
