    Verulamium Park in the fog

There was thick fog by us today, which seemed to be an excellent subject for a walk with the camera:

Of the three I prefer the first by some way Richard. It tells a great story of the solitary man looking for a place to rest, the bench calling him over........listen me !

My vote goes for number 3....a simpler composition than no.1 and this appeals.
Canon EOS R5, R6 plus the usual suspects ......

All three for me Richard, each one is an individual story image with great style.

                Is the vignetting deliberate?

Yes! All added in post. My 70-200 f2.8 doesn't produce much of a natural vignette. I add one to most pictures.

For my taste, the vignetting here makes the fog look a little too much like black smoke.

Fair enough. A lot of the current "grunge" style involves the use of heavy vignettes, and obviously I have a choice whether to use it or not. That said, I find it is often helpful to create a strong boundary for the picture. That is, of course, a matter of taste! I prefer to think of these as pictures rather than photographs

                          Richard,

Great set - number 3 for me.

Love the processing suits the feel of the photo. How were they processed?

Thanks Guy. All processed in Photoshop with various duplication and blend modes, plus a few textures. There is a great course called photoshopartistry with Sebastian Michaels that I have been following. If you are into this sort of look, then that is an excellent place to start! If you are interested more in these specifics, pm me, and I will let you know more!
