    AF Microadjustment

Following from Robert's answer in the latest issue, the problem may not be due to misalignment of the mirrors in the camera. I have two lenses, one Canon, one Tamron that back focus on both my camera bodies. None of my other 6 lenses have a problem. I the case of these two lenses the problem is not with the cameras but with the lenses. I check any new lens when I get them and either return them if the focusing is way off, or apply micro-adjustment if it is minor. The problem has been around ever since interchangeable lens cameras have had auto focus and that's why Canon provide the facility. If all your lenses have the problem it will almost certainly be the camera that is the culprit.
