EOS Rebel T6i (EOS 750D) problem using Canon 430ex iii rt speedlight

Ok, i'm a little new to "off-camera" flash photography and so apologies in advance if I'm a little ignorant on the subject.

I have an EOS Rebel T6i (EOS 750D) DSLR. I just bought a Canon 430ex iii rt speedlight.

I want to use the speedlight 'off' camera wirelessly. So therefore, the speedlight has 2 main wireless functions I'm interested in, 1) the speedlight working as an optical slave, & 2) working as a radio signal receiver slave.

Now, i can get the optical slave to work just fine. However, i ideally want to use it in the radio receiver slave mode, as it's clearly the better option to use. I can't figure out why i can't get the radio signal receiver mode to work. In the camera I've tried using 'easy wireless setup' & 'custom wireless setup'. I've checked the channel numbers match. The speedlight just won't fire. The only thing i can think of as to why it might not work, is that perhaps the camera doesn't support radio signal transmission to the speedlight (even though in the settings it has settings for wireless flash). Could that be true? If so, does that mean i need to buy a wireless radio transmission add-on for the camera?

On the canon website it says this about my camera's flash: Modes - Auto, Manual flash, Integrated Speedlite Transmitter

Any advice would be valued. Thanks.

"Wireless" flash does not mean by radio, it's by infrared which needs a direct line of sight from the camera to the receiver on the flash. You will need to buy a separate radio transmitter. Many people use Yongnuo as a relatively low cost unit, you would need to look into the details of what you need for your camera and flash combination.

For it to work off camera you will need a transmitter for the camera and a receiver for the flash.
      I have these

If your on Facebook have a look at a group called Speedlite Fundamentals. A guide to learning OCF.
