    I am Struggling with Blown Highlights have read Articles about it and changed settings used small Apertures and under Exposed but still get blown Highlights. any advice would be appreciated.

    Hello John , your camera likely has a highlights warning feature , this flashes red on the cameras screen when the image is viewed in playback . You can use the cameras compensation settings , or as I prefer use manual mode and just keep upping the shutter speed till the red flashing stops , or stop the aperture down depending which is more important . Hope that helps .

      John, what camera are you using? Does it have a histogram facility?

        If you are not already doing so, shooting in Raw gives more latitude than jpeg.
        Enabling Highlight Tone Priority can help.
        I would use AEB and see which looks best. It may be that you can't get highlights and shadows both correct at any setting. Sometimes the range in the scene is just too much for the camera's dynamic range, which is why HDR is popular with some people.

            are you using spot metering? that could cause it if the spot is on a dark part of the subject

              You need to understand your metering a little better perhaps. Meter from a different part of the scene then recompose to take the shot. Or meter from an 18% grey card in the same lighting conditions, or even anything with a mid-tone; ģrass, concrete, for example.
