    Re: iMac Purchase

Decided to go for the i5 3.3Ghz (boost up to 3.9) 2TB fusion , a little bit extra for a bit more investment , couldn't really afford to go for the i7 but i will go for upgrading the RAM at some point .
Picking it up from Lewis's tomorrow ( extra 1 year warrantry and i've had excellent service from them recently) .
Thanks for all your thoughts and guidance !

        Re: iMac Purchase

Currys 10% discount offer still on website running until end of January. Apple will definitely match this discount (because I asked when looking for a new machine for my daughter). Equally, JL's "Never knowingly undersold" promise should allow you to get them to price-match and save you 10%.

Make sure the spec from Currys is correct....one Xmas they had a sale of what looked to be the latest Mac book pro....when retina became available... but had the RAM of the older model.

Looking forward to getting my hands on it Alan !
Enigma / Brian - A price match form has been submitted , nothing ventured ! To be honest i probably wouldn't have bought from Currys after the appalling service we got when just looking for a new cooker recently , they need to go along to out JL to see how it's done !

I had no intention of buying from Currys either - was only using their offer to leverage a discount from Apple. Like you I have a high regard for JL and have purchased from them in the past.

Went with the i5 in the end but managed to stretch to the 3.3 with the 2TB drive and the better graphics card . Tried the price match with JL but they would do it with the advertised prices been the same before the cash back , still bought from JL for the reasons mentioned earlier .

Have to say after setting it up I'm really impressed! Have now updated the RAM by 16gb for slightly less than Apple would charge (£109 from Amazon - Crucial Mac Memory) .

                Exceedingly Happy Bunny !

You'd not be far off the truth Alan !

Just need to get some time to take some new photos to try it out , going to West Yorkshire in a couple of weeks time so some more on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway will be on the cards .
