    Fountain Pens

Apart from photography I make hand craft fountain pens as a hobby. I thought I would try my hand at photographing these with the studio lights I was able to get just before Christmas.
Its a very steep learning curve !!!!!!!!

This pen is made from Tiger Wood

This pen is crafted from an acrylic used by Conway Stewart .

I have a sneaky suspicion you may just be right now that I have looked at them again

Lovely looking pens and with all those shiny surfaces you've done well. They do look a little soft to me too

              Re: Fountain Pens

Try to avoid using bright colours for your background as they can cause a colour cast in your subject. Mid grey or black is usually a better bet for photographing turnings. This is more important for wood than acrylic.

                Good compositions....tricky subject too.
I think they are fairly low res files and maybe thats why No1 particularly looks soft?

I do sell them but I assured Robert when joining that I would not use this forum as a point of sale, and I quite like it here.

Agree that these look a little soft. If you'd like some guidance on how to improve the images it would be useful to give info on the shooting conditions, camera, lens, aperture, shutter speed and how the sceen was lit.
