Did anybody see the TV programme about wildlife in northern Thailand last night? It was also shown earlier in the week. There was a guy sitting in a hide in a tree trying to film tigers. He had a massive film camera to which was attached a lens to match and on the lens was clearly written "Canon 50 - 1000". Out of interest I did a search for the lens on the internet. Apparently"The lens is designed for use on cinema cameras with Super 35 sized sensors and is suitable for 4K acquisition." However, it does have an EF fitting. By the way, it also comes with an inbuilt 1.5x converter to give a maximum 1500 mm..
Fancy one? SRP is $78,000 but fortunately it is on offer for a mere $70,200 with at least one dealer. Better do some weight training though as it weighs in at 14.5 lbs, while the "tripod" needed is equally enormous, more like a set of scaffolding.
