    Re: Monopod

I managed to pick up an unusual Monopod while on holiday in the Lake District. Its a trekking pole which you remove the top and screw the pole into the bottom of the camera.

        [QUOTE=TonyT;369733]In his high heals?

Nat pm'd you back, not after anything for it, it is 60.63" tall without the head that will add another couple, plus the camera.

        This is it

Thanks I have PM's you back.

Just for everyone's "amusement", I do make prints from some of my good pics (concerts and church) and present to the performers with my compliments- just to spread a little cheer all round. So not much botherd about Pixy & similar.

          Re: Monopod

Silvertouran, there is one similar on the first page, the one that interested me was a tripod that you unscrew a leg off, that then becomes a monopod while separate, sort of two for one.

The mono pod / walking pole I provided a link to has a head that pivots 90 degrees for portraits - and it only costs £6.89 so well worth a punt to see if you like them.

              Cheers,

Thanks John. I have already got my monopod thanks to Tony. I hope to use it in Bangor Cathedral in Feb for another low light event.

                  Re: Monopod

Nat that Monopod 680 that Tony is offering is a cracking job have one my self, tending to use it more than my Manfrotto Carbon tripod which looks as if might move the latter on.
Actually use the Monopod with the folding base legs which when not in use close up and fit in base of the Monopod.especially handy when in hides as the Monopod then takes up little room.
You will certainly be ok with the Manfrotto 680.

Nat, check Emails, will be with you tomorrow.

Has the QR head on it and two quick release plates, does not have the optional folding leg base mentioned though.

You can get clamps for them Nat so you can secure them to a shelf etc in a hide if you want to.
I use my 500mm on my other monopod all the time, indeed it is my primary support for it and it is what I use in hides and works fine ( I do not use a clamp on it being Carbon, but the one I have sent is ally and will be fine if you want to)

One of the guys in the hide I go into had one of these on his monopod, whether he dismantled it to get it on I do not know, you will need to make sure it fits your tube diameter.

Being cheap I bought one of these, which will do similar, but haven't used it, it clamped to the monopod ok, just look around for similar.

you can incidentally get his clamps complete for scopes, so depending on your lens weight, something line this might be workable

                              Just Google hide clamps.

Oddly not a lot of people are aware of their existence.
