Torre Abbey Art Works

Not sure why, although I am gratefull, but TBC have installed a few pieces of art in the garden of Torre Abbey and I thought this one worked well as the forground of the abbey itself:

Sadly I think the art work adds nothing to the shot John, without it it's a lovely scene......but then that's art hey

agree, loose it and you've got a nice shot - as its over grass would be really easy

Photo aside, that is an interesting contrast. Medieval architecture contrasted by a questionable piece of modern art. Kind of detracts from the beauty of the Abbey. BTW John, I am not critiquing your image, just the Abbey's perceived (on my part) lack of taste...

I'm actually a fan of modern art and can see that it can work in traditional settings but would be the first to concede that there are some pretty poor examples out there. This one doesn't hold a candle to anything by Barbara Hepworth and didn't inspire me to stand and contemplate its meaning - I couldn't even be bothered to read the information panel
