    Sunset River

I really wanted a better sunset but it was in the wrong place, also wanted to keep a bit of water movement rather than too much milky look

In this case the milky look of the water blends in too much with the snow on the rocks. Hard to distinguish the difference.

thanks for the feedback but no snow - personally I didn't think it blended, so will be interested to hear what others think

Like the perspective and you got the right movement in the water. Well done Ian

          Re: Sunset River

There's a lot to like in this and I'm grateful the water has neither been frozen (in movement!) nor turned into meringue but the burning around the tree edges appears to be an untypical heavy handed use of the adjustment brush

          Cheers,

            thanks Tom

John, didn't touch the trees, the sun was right behind them and that made that look ... honest :)

Ian, I love the blending of the textures of the rocks and water. Great lighting, great sky; love it.

                  Re: Sunset River

Yes I like it...very different but impacting.
All I would query is if the mid tones on either side - trees and buildings could be raised in tone.
Graphically there are two nice bright triangles....one with base at the top and the other with base at the bottom which work well.

hope you didn't get your feet too wet...

                    Re: Sunset River

works well with the contrast of the colour at the top half of the frame and almost mono of the bottom half

I don't know, I just feel the lower portion needs more contrast to balance it with the upper half, it sort of feels washed out if that makes sense.
