    7D1 & 11 & old Sigma lens compatability

I have a 7Dmk1 & 7Dmk11. I have found an old Sigma lens EX 17-35mm f2.8 purchased in 2003 for the 10D. Has anyone experience of compatibility of this lens (or lens of similar vintage) with either 7D? Or any other issues that may arise if tried out. Many thanks.

It will either work or not, just try it and see. A lens can't cause any harm to your camera. Sigma lenses I have from that era don't work on my cameras, just get an error code.

some of the older sigma lenses may give problems changing aperture .and in some cases sigma can supply and fit a new chip to update them ,but its a suck it and see situation if it doesnt work make a note of whats not working then phone sigma u.k for a chat to see if it a viable fix or not .

as a point of interest a while back i bought a old tamron 28-105 zoom lens from the film/digital changeover period ,its a super little lens works perfectly even on my up to date 80D and cost me the princely sum of £23 delivered ,well worth the gamble
