    Our Lady of Lordes Church

On our way to the Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia I spotted this church on the left as we waited for the light to turn Green. This was taken from the window of the care using the EOS M5 w/EF-S 10-18mm @ 11mm

Nice and sharp but I'd really want to do something with those verticals.

    Cheers,

Thanks John, but at 11mm and it I straighten them slightly, then I loose the Cross on top.

Yes a bit too much distortion for this to work Tom but very easy to fix without losing the cross - on a seperate layer , ctrl and T to enter free transform mode and right click to "distort" and then just use the handles to correct the verticals and add just a little canvas at the top

the edit was only done to demonstrate that the verticals could be corrected without losing the cross. The church was leaning back anyway and that and the cross could be sorted with further editing. To an extent converging verticals can work but only when the building is the only thing in the frame that is converging, not when in this case you have the lampost, trees and other buildings as well.

The secret is that when framing the image to leave enough dead space around the subject so there is room for corrections in processing

in cases like this Tom I just play with the verticals and go for even more extreme look

Nothing wrong with converging verticals! Great grab shot from the car window!
