I prefer the mono version but would crop out the out of focus foreground grasses.
Also like the first shot but maybe could do with slightly brightening.

Love the mono version, but the hole set is well done

Yes...another vote for the mono....I like that the OOF foreground as it emphasises the narrow DoF....so I'd be tempted to keep it in.

A great set, mono works for me best. i am assuming you are shooting over water... leave the reeds in.

Hi Guys, thanks for the comments. The first one is dull as it was taken just after sunrise on a quite claggy morning. I will try to lift it a bit though and see what happens.
I'm undecided on the foreground or whether I prefer mono or colour although I think it's mono.

                      Re: Postbridge & a Question

I love the first one as it really captures the atmosphere of the moor on such a day

Of the other two the mono definitely gets my vote as the central tree is lost in the colour version. As for cropping I agree that losing some, but not all, of the blurred foreground would strengthen the composition turning a good image into an exceptional one. Very good work indeed

                      Cheers,
                      John

I like them both Wayne, I actually like the oof foreground leading into the sharp image and then back out again, I also think that the colour version has something of a watercolour look to it but I really like the mono.
