Angle Finder C Anyone use one?

    Hi,
thinking of getting one of these to help with lower viewpoint photos, eg our dog on the beach, flowers, little creatures etc - as my knees are old & stiff..Does anyone have any experience of it in use, please. For 7DII and a 5DIII.
    Thanks

I used one years ago with my 50d, yes worked fine, I think mine was a copy of the canon one ( seagull rings a bell) ....I swapped systems so sold mine and haven't felt the need to replace but my knees are still ok so far..

Yes I have one, make sure you get the right attachment, if you buy it off evil bay etc, there are two and it should come with both, but some do not.. also you will find you can zoom the image on it which basically takes out the information in the viewfinder, which helps on macro, mine is the Canon one, seagull is a cheaper copy, not sure if it has the zoom facility. BTW you can swivel it so you can view from the side etc.

Is the Canon Angle Finder C right for you? Learn all you need to know in The-Digital-Picture.com's review!

The adaptors are about £30, hence why I said make are both are present, as your two cameras may require both, I got my angle finder off Ebay, mint boxed for about £70 which is a fraction of the new price.

I have the Seagull version , and my one does also zoom . I have not really used it much , so glad I didn`t spend a fortune on it .

I have a cheap Chinese copy, it's a pain to use outdoors, good for a copy stand etc. Of course, with the consumer/enthusiast SLR these days you get the articulated screen which largely makes angle finders redundant. Apparently they aren't on the professional range because it might compromise the weather sealing, as would the pop up flash.

                Thanks folks,
Doesn't seem to be universal praise for this gizmo so far. It is a lot of dosh at c £170. Will ponder further - or have a look on fleabay.

It is very very good, but it is as you point out expensive and having got it, I do find I do not use it that much, probably because I use a 1DX and the viewfinder used to steam up faster than the window in an all female Swedish sauna door.... So i replaced it with another of Canon's overly expensive products, the anti Steamupping viewfinder........ Something that at the Camera price should be standard.

I have one for my 5D3 - not given it a great deal of use but when you have need of it it is very good.

Re: Angle Finder C Anyone use one?

I have just bought one. But things gang up against me. I had set the viewfinder diopter adjuster to suit my eyes, but with the AngleFinder it likes to focus on an uncorrected focussing screen. SO now I have reset the viewfinder to zero offset, and use glasses to see the picture - but at least I can use the anglefinder whenver, and I can even read the LDC display too, so looks like I'm going to have to get used to wearing specs for photos.
And to replace the tilty-flippy of the x00's cameras, it is great, by the way.
