    Water Rail

Another very dull day necessitated pushing the ISO up to 12800 to capture this Water Rail who decided to briefly emerge from the vegetation

Very good, especially for that ISO, prefer #1 as it appears slightly sharper to me and a better 'pose' #2 looks as if taken from a bit too high a position, though that could be an illusion due to the stance of the bird.

both nice shots and if from a hide then not always possible to get down to eye level especially if they come close

Thanks guys , the shots were taken from a hide so no scope for a better angle of view , very skittish and the slightest noise or movement sent it scurrying back into the reeds.

That`s the bane of hides , I don`t think most of them had / have photographers in mind when they are put up . Top one for me Steve .
