Nice set, Brian, but for me no 1 is the clear winner, the subdued colour adds interest and the full reflection is gorgeous - in particular the golden lettering in the water is lovely.

      Thanks Alex!
I'd not considered the Marston's reflected lettering as significant but of course it is....thanks for pointing that out.

Agree with Alex..... no. 1 a clear winner with super reflections and absolutely no reason to mono the lovely subtle colour.

Used to be my neck of the woods...so thanks for sharing this.

Mono version is the outstanding shot for me Brian, great clarity and a good tonal range - nicely processed.

No. 1 for me although the sky is a bit washed out and I wonder if that could be improved? Still lovely though especially the reflections

              Cheers,

Another vote for the BW version, a hands down winner for me.

                      Re: Stone, Staffordshire

With such a bland sky, I think the first works better in mono but colour or mono the reflection has a lovely abstract feel to it

no 1 for me and being no good at processing myself, can see what John suggests as the sky is very white, Well on my monitor!

                              Re: Stone, Staffordshire

For me the bottom one is my favorite. But they also all seem to have things that don't jazz me. The first one is blown a bit and I assume the conversion was done off the first one because the reduction in usable hues to B&W to me compounded that. My trip to all three images on Flickr and a look at the EXIF data bore that out. The composition I think is VERY good! I wonder though if the third image may have seen a marked improvement from a circular polarizer. Usually it tones down some of the glare and brings out the vibrancy of the colors. Another possibility may have been a ND Gradual filter to tone the sky down a notch. I don't know if those may have helped since I wasn't there. Great work and eye! Too bad the conditions weren't optimum!
