    Mount Cook from the Hermitage

Two images from our stay in Mount Cook village. The hotel's two dining rooms had windows looking out at the mountain, both of the rooms had windows which magnified the scene. I didn't notice this but my wife did as we were sat having a nightcap in the hotel bar the windows in the bar weren't magnified which; made me wonder if the architect relied on people in the bar wearing beer goggles .

    1. The setting sun giving the snow topped peak a golden glow.

    2. I was sent out (from the bar) to capture this. I'm quite surprised I managed to capture anything! especially with the 70-200 hand held. But at 12800 ISO I got the image but it does have some noise.

Love the first one Peter but would lose two thirds of the rather uninteresting sky.

You could Barbara, but the place gets invaded by coach loads of tourists armed with selfie sticks who always seemed to shout rather than talk to each other!. Plus I had other places to explore

It would be too horrendous for most people here John. I would hate to be blamed for a sudden reduction in the number of people contributing here
