Can i use Kenko TelePlus MC4 2.0X DGX Teleconverter for canon with the 55-250 IS2

I saw this teleconverter(http://www.ebay.in/itm/332156915510?aff_source=Sok-Goog) on ebay. It costs around 9k Indian rupees, But will it give a zoom of 500mm when i use it with the canon 55-250 IS2 lens?.

Unfortunately not. You will need a Kenko HD converter (as opposed to the DGX model shown here) to be able to use it with EF-S lenses.

Also, I wouldn't recommend a 2x TC with that lens - you'll lose two stops of light. Even a 1.4x TC will make that lens a maximum aperture of f/8 and you're likely to lose any auto-focus capabilities (although my 750D will work in bright conditions with the 55-250 plus 1.4x Kenko HD).

I agree with the first comment, the quality with a 2x converter would be very poor and you wouldn't get autofocus. Even the 1.4x is a push, doesn't always autofocus.

Yes, I am sure that the 1.4x Kenko will serve your needs. I have got one and also use it with my 55-250mm lens. The combination works very well.
