    Elgol - new perspective

With the fine weather today I just had to go and try something new at Elgol.

By the time I had scrambled down to the shore the cloud had changed and the sun was into some hazy cloud

      Re: Elgol - new perspective

Only ever been to Elgol once, it's a fantastic location. Initially I though the first shot was a longish exposure giving a bit of cloud movement but maybe they were just naturally whispy clouds. Exif details of the shots would be useful.
Second shot, I think is a bit too contrasty, so I prefer the first one.

        Re: Elgol - new perspective

Took the train to Kyle yesterday although didn't cross over to Skye itself. Weather was beautiful for the entire trip. Haven't been on the island for at least 10 years so hoping I can do that this year but I think time may have dulled my memories of the dreaded midgies!

I like both shots for different reasons - the view in the first and the rock formation in the second.

I do like the composition of the second shot but do agree John something not sitting right about the PP

I agree about the PP. I did it last night in artificial light which wasn't bright. I usually do processing in daylight (usually overcast here) with a shade behind the screen.

I'll have to have another go.

Despite the PP they are excellent shots - I particularly like the composition of the first one..

I do like an interesting foreground so the second has a lot going for it but await with interest to see a reworking of the PP. The first is a stunner

                Cheers,

Here's the rework, not quite sure about it though.

Must admit now you've changed it, I prefer the first.

And me as lifting it just that little bit has recovered some of the lost detail

Like the first one as it is but the cyan sky in the second just feels plain wrong to me so I had a go at it...

Also warmed up the foreground a bit.
