            Really nice images Steve.

            I've never seen Great Snipe, however, got to say beak looks rather long from what I recall of ident clues. Seem to recall plumage is real clue though in flight.

              Thanks Ant , they are difficult to get out in the open and are nigh on impossible to see in the undergrowth due to their camouflage but this group were very obliging .

                Lovely shots but great snipe are extremely rare in the UK and mostly seen in the autumn. Are you sure they're not (common) snipe?
