    A lot of these at Barnes on Saturday but quite difficult to shoot as they dont stay still but managed to catch this one snoozing

      Amazing detail, one day I'll get a macro lens... Just blown my budget on a new turntable, so will have to wait for a while...

                  Just getting the first ones of the year in the garden over last couple of days. As Stan said, they don't stay still for long. Usually hovering and flitting from plant to plant.

                    There are lots of these being shown on the Facebook Diptera (fly) group at present, quite a lot of decent in flight images, which I've never been able to get right personally.
                    EOS 6D, 6D Mk II, 80D, 70D, 100D, 200D, M50, M100. Canon 10-18, 18 - 55, 55 - 250 IS STM lenses, Canon 16 - 35 mm F4L, 35 mm EF-S macro, 50 mm F1.8 STM, 60 mm EF-S macro, MPE-65 macro, 85 mm F1.8, 200 mm F2.8 L II, M 15 - 45 mm, M 22mm F2, M 32mm F1.4. Sigma 24 - 35 F2 Art, 135 mm F1.8 Art, 17 - 50 F2.8 DC, 105 mm OS macro, 100 - 400 C, 150 - 600 C.

                        I'm always impressed when someone manages a macro shot as sharp as this handheld - I assume it is hand held...

                          'm always impressed when someone manages a macro shot as sharp as this handheld - I assume it is hand held.
                          never use a tripod for wildlife macro, too difficult to get in position and if you do the chances are the subject is long gone
