makes you wonder after looking at that lump on CR ,but a whole new way of taking photos does fog things up a bit .
to my way of thinking and in line with my own recent selling and buying ,sensor technology has way surpassed the effective resolving power of lenses ,it was only 2 or 3 years ago that nikon came up with the 12mp is all you need statement ,closely followed by ever more heavy mp beasts where we now have 36mp from nikon ,50mp from canon ,god knows what from sony .and then strange murmurings of medium format stuff from the likes of hasslebad etc .
so yes something is probably in development ,in fact just this morning my lad bought a panasonic G80 that can alter the focus point/s after the photo is taken .o.k its micro 2/3rds but it looks good on screen and takes interchangeable lenses ,even canon ones with the right adaptors .
At the end of the day its all down to costs and usage ,if you have a subject for it then it might be worth the expense ,will whatever they introduce be backwards compatible with what we now own and use ,or will it require complete re-tooling and that could include specialised post processing to .
.yes i would love a camera and lens that did auto exposure compensation and got focus dead on every shot ,but will it come in my lifetime who can say .

I do wonder if the built in teleconvertors are the way forward bearing in mind the 200-400 has been released with it, whatever they come up with surely they would have shoved a patent in. One day they will make flexible elements.

Here is one idea I wish they would release, a camera with a glass plate / come screw in filter at the bayonet connector, thus insuring no more dust on the sensor or mirror problems. In effect sealing to body and easily cleaned.
