    Bird Photography

    I use a Canon 5D Mk3 with either a Canon MK2 L series 100/400 zoom or more recently, a Tamron 150-600mm 2nd generation zoom.

Struggling with manual focus when using Canon extenders (mk3's)

    Any tips please?
    Regards

He said manual focus, not auto focus.

Try using live view to focus, it can sometimes help as you will see the subject at optimal brightness. It's what I often use for macro shots.

Ah yes manual focus ,don't think your going to get far with manual focus and long lenses mixed with bird photography and t.c use ..not really a option even in good light

Does that camera have the green focus confirmation light in the viewfinder? Possibly of some help if the birds are still, but probably not with birds in flight.

Just a thought is the Diopter adjusted for your eyes?
