    On a beautiful sunny morning GWR Class 2-6-2T 5542 departs Buckfastleigh with the 10.45 service to Totnes Riverside on the South Devon Railway, 2nd April 2017.

    Lovely shot, I like these in Mono usually but this still looks great, not spoiled by anything modern looking like new signs or sky dishes etc

        Nice shot Colin. I agree with Paul, it is great not having the scene spoilt by modern artifacts.

                Great composition Colin, love it

                Many railway photography conspiracy theorists believe that when drivers open the cylinder drain cocks immediately prior to pulling away it has less to do with ejecting condensed water but rather to spoil the efforts of any photographer intent on capturing the scene. Well, that's how it often seems to me

                  I also agree, with what has been said, a classic timeless shot that could have been taken yesterday or fifty years ago.
