Good Friday- Witness walk

Every year Good Friday sees a witness walk,of the faithful, from the local parish church to the Cathedral. I thought I'd post these pics of this special event.

Nicely documented set, Nat. You must have been out of breath keeping trotting ahead of them up the hill to get into position For me, the best two images are the 4th, which I love the simplicity, the apparently matching clothing and you have caught them both with a good stride, and the 5th for the less cluttered streetscape and because the yellow jacketed front and back markers aren't visible but you can see the procession.
It's a real shame that the only ones with the church as a backdrop have cars and a portaloo which rather spoils them. Next year, could you find just one small spot with a clear wall and window to line up against?

Thanks Alex for your well reasoned comments. Much appreciated. Yes, I agree that the cars and the portaloo spoils the backdrop of the Cathedral. There is presently a big renovation work taking place with the building of more toilets etc. The work should be finished by the end of Summer this year and hopefully I will have uncluttered views next year. I "cheated" by parking my car at the bottom of the hill and just before the first hour ended at the parish church, I got into my car and drove "up" the hill and parked on the street opposite the Cathedral and then took the pictures!!!!! I would have been knocked out if I had walked up the hill!!- at my age.

A good piece of reportage Nat I couldn't help but notice that the woman in blue was hardly engaging in the solemnity of the occasion.
