I think the book of Dorset photographic locations had it right as the composition is spot on So nice to see a 'proper' village pond too.

We went mainly in search of a rape field planted around a rather nice barn. Found it but the book neglected to mention that it was a rotating crop and this year the field was planted with wheat - looks like it may be a 4 year rotation so next opportunity probably not until 2020
