Nice one, I keep going back there yet never seem to get it right, it's all about the light and the sky.

I dragged myself out of bed early one day and was up there at 0600 and in there with tripod etc, then a couple with a drone turned up and asked me to move, they were the people making a film 'Life of a Mountain', they had already done the one about Blencartha, think this was a second or even third. To be fair they were very pleasant and after the Golden light too.

Sorry to blather on, on your Post

Any more Lakes shots to come?

    Regards Paul

        Thanks Guys...thats really unlucky Paul....
I went to a stone circle in Derbyshire on the solstice day once and was asked to move by a group who then proceeded to change into white gowns....no chicken sacrifices in sight luckily!
Not many Lakes shots .....didn't have much time and was determined that photography didn't dominate our few days.

here are a few from having hired one of those small boats at Waterhead

              Re: Castlerigg Stone Circle

For so long man has pondered on the mystery of why ancient civilisations expended so much effort on constructing stone circles. Was it for religious reasons? Was it for astronomical? No, neither, it was to provide future selfie takers with a pretty background.

              Great shot though

              Cheers,
              John

That had the potential to be a really nice image, pity about the people getting in the way, I like my landscapes to be pretty much free of humans unless they really add something.

                        Re: Castlerigg Stone Circle

Very nice, Brian, and much more successful than my effort a couple of years ago. I then spent ages deleting all the people, but in your case I think they work, mainly because the primary figure is doing something other than just standing around, and the tripod adds a really graphic element and juxtaposition of the sleek modern against the ancient stones.
