    Dodging the tripod police - Greenwich

    Another from a trip with Tony to Greenwich, one which I had overlooked when processing.

    We both set up with tripods ready for some LE work, when the tripod police came along halfway through the exposure, "you're not allowed to do that on this path", he said. "oh well, let us finish off and we'll be gone". He did and this is the result. I imagine a shot that not many people have bagged. Yes I am a rebel lol.

            Nice shot, stupid rule, i could understand it with a large footfall, but what is to stop you both standing beside each other hand holding it on the same path...... same obstruction really.
            I watched similar enfold with some guy and some steps at an airfield, he had set up his ladders to get a shot of a rarity over a fence when security turf up making threats etc and telling him to come down as he could use them to get over the fence, ( he was about 10 foot from it so he must be Steve Austin, plus there was about 10 of us the other side doing exactly the same )
            I said let him get his shot and he will be on his way, they were having none of it.... upshot I invited him in to the school ( perfectly legal as not air side and he was accompanied) and he came the other side of the fence to join us taking pictures after which he thanked us and departed happy.

              I can totally understand if we were blocking a tiny path with danger to the side, like a road or something. But this was a very wide path with a huge grass area to one side. To be fair to the guy, he allowed the shots to be taken and walked away after he has said his piece.

                  Nicely exposed, composed and processed. Sometimes it pays to be a rebel.

                    Well worth the aggro... Sometimes I argue the toss with these jobsworths; it's always a 50:50 call, specially if you're on private property - even if it is designated a 'public' footpath.
                    Cheers;

                          Very nice, Alan, and worth standing your ground. Love the sky, the clean lines and the deep blacks. I guess 6 minutes would have been an awfully long time to have engaged him in polite conversation so just as well he left you to it...
