    Evening on Pew Tor

This was taken a couple of weeks ago, I'd gone to catch the sunset at "the windy post" but three other togs were already there so I walked on to the top of the Tor and captured this.

And then on the way back I saw the togs leaving so managed to get this

Evening above windy post 6 (1 of 1) by Tim Riesner, on Flickr

The windy post is the local nickname for this old cross, it dates back to either the 13th or 14th century and is one of the oldest still in existence on the moor.

Two lovely shots. I think I'd tone down the rock bottom left in #1, but otherwise, nice...

Agree with others but would probably go a stage further. Even with the bottom left rock toned down, I don't think it would add to the shot, so I would crop in from the left to eliminate it, or if the shot is already cropped, crop out to include more of the rock (if that makes sense!!)

Number one for me Tim. I can see what the guys are saying about the cropping; nevertheless both excellent.

Nice shots. Pew Tor is a great location, shame about nearby Vixen Tor. The thing with Windy Post is everyone takes a picture of it and most of the time it just doesn't work that well. Better to try a more remote cross (imho) and be a bit more original.
